History Resources

This page is set up to help students in history to develop better academic skills. Whether you need help studying, taking essay tests, writing research papers, or wonder what a thesis is, this is the place. It also provides links to other sites that might be helpful in doing historical research or just might be fun places to surf.

Studying includes tips on how to read the text, take notes in class, studying in general, and other little pointers they never told you about in orientation.

Exams - Do you have problems taking exams? These pages give you some pointers.

Research Papers - Writing a paper can be a traumatic experience for those who have not written one before. It is a lot of work, but it is an opportunity to learn. These pages will help guide you through the process, from deciding on a topic to the final draft.

American History Outline

Links to sites of interest.  There are not many historical sites here (see the individual outlines for those) but sites on being a historian, writing like a historian, etc.
